    Hi. This is a very basic question, but as I’m scanning my photos to create a slideshow, I’m considering what size I need to crop my images. I’d like to apply a Ken Burns Effect to some of the images, so that makes me wonder if I need to crop these larger than 720 x 480.

    Also, is 72 dpi high enough quality?

    72 dpi is the correct setting for video. Depending on how you implement the KB technique, you should likely have an oversized image 1000×1000, for example. With raster graphics it’s better to scale an image down than up.
