Scaling Multiple Layers at different times
Hey Guys
I basically have one of those facebook videos that is a text slide show. It’s quite long. I completed it but now the client wishes to scale the text on each layer. So something like %100 – maybe %110. Now I could go in and add a adjustment or null to each one and parent but is there a way to scale them from one effect?
So each text layer would scale %10 during it’s life.

You can do this by adding an expression to the text. Alt+click the Scale property stopwatch and enter the following:
value*1.1Once you’ve done this to the first text layer, select its Scale property in the timeline panel, then Edit > Copy expression only. Then you can multi-select the other text layers and paste.

I think this might be my best option. Seems pretty simple thanks a lot! Saves me mucho time

I put value*1.04 in and nothing happens. The scale percentages turn red and thats it. No error just nothing happens

You’re increasing the scale by 4%. For smaller initial scale values, the difference may not be noticeable. Increase that number as needed.

Still can’t get it to work… I’m not too familiar with expression but I alt click the stopwatch which opens up expressions..
then I skip to the next line and paste value*1.1. Press Enter then go to preview
Then nothing happens..Am I missing something?

Delete the expression that gets inserted automatically and replace it with the new one.
