    Hi everyone,

Does anyone know how to get around, a staircasing problem when scaling very slowly?

I am taking a precomp and scaling it different amounts and I notice a wavering effect. The Pre-comp has continuous rasterize turned on.

Could this have something to do with it? The fact that it makes everything so sharp?

    Thanks in advance.

AE uses bilinear filtering, which is pretty square-ish. Get yourself Instant HD or Resizer for better results (even when scaling down).

    HI,

Thanks for your quick reply. The elements that I am seeing staircasing and wavering on is text (from AE text tool), and masked solids. They are all in the precomp. It is wierd that I am noticing it on vector elements. It doesnt look like the resolution has been pushed passed 100 percent. It is more like, the vector artwork is so sharp that it wavers.

Perhaps I should not use continuous rasterize and just build 1 giant precomp?

I am scaling the precomp up with a null. If I scaled up the precomp and applied resizer or HD, you think it would omit the wavering?

    Thanks again.

    HI,
I found out the problem. It was continuous rasterize. I recreated my precomp at a much larger size, so I did not have to use continuous rasterize. That fixed it.

    Thanks again.
