    Hi there,
i have an issue that i am not really managing to solve.

    here´s what i have:
    1) I created a circle (with elipse tool) wich is a shape layer that “masks” an image via trackmatte LUMA.
    2) Then i downscaled the image so it fits the size of my circle.
    3) To this shape layer i gave scale and opacity attributes – So now it reveals the image, scaling and fading away perfectly. All good.

The thing is that i need to have the image scaling along with my circle shape layer aswell.
I tried parenting with pickwhip the scale parameter of my image to the scale parameter of the shape layer, but the image looses its initial scale (explained on point 2). I need them to scale all together hand in hand.

What should i do? any advice on how to solve it?
    Thank You !
    André

If you animate the ellipse’s size with it’s layer’s scale property
(= not the Size Parameter of the Ellipse, and not the Scale of it’s Shape Group).
-> Then normal layer-parenting will work as expected and you will not need an expression

    Hi Filip,

    thank you,

    i followed your suggestion,
i scaled the ellipses layer scale property (the “main” layers transform attribute in other words), instead of the size parameter property of the ellipse – and then parented the image scale property to the ellipse´s layer scale property — again my image blows up in scale – its like the parenting doesnt care about my image size (wich is downscaled inside the circle).

    thank you filip
