    hello,
would anyone have insight into the process of working in film trailers? has anyone ever heard of a spec film trailer on a reel before?, would getting a job at a trailer cutting house require one of those, or would it be more realistic to come with the intent to be trained, having only “similar” material, like say promos or something?

thanks in advance for the advice

don’t know how it works for trailer cutters. but for spot cutters it would be smarter to start entry level at a place where you could eventually build a reel or actual work. takes time and a good attitude.

Repeat after me, in a low gravelly voice…

    “In a world…”

    Derek,

Trailer houses won’t usually hire editors w/o previous trailer cutting experience. I think you have to start at the bottom and work your way up.
