First, I love Vegas. I have made several film trailers with the application and love it.

Now though I am working on an Audio/Visual project with a DJ. I am going to be sample video clips stored on my machine. To me there is no better video author than Vegas. I can use the slider and cut whatever I want. Lovely tool.

What I would like to know is if there is a way I can cut segments out of my files and export just that one segment? There has to be some way to do this, or some other kind of program with a similar interface as vegas. I do’t like the ones where you have to fill in the time, I want them precise and Vegas gives me that ability.

However, one film could have a dozen clips that I’d like to clip seperately, there has to be some way to do this, the tool is just too damn complete for there not to be.

    Thank You,
    Clay

[cladsco] “if there is a way I can cut segments out of my files and export just that one segment?”

You need to render it as a new file by creating a time selection and checking the Render Loop Region Only option in the render dialog.

Thank you Gary! I hope you find a penny on heads buddy.

This will be a start and make my life so much easier. Once you use Vegas to edit clips you can’t really go to anything else. Nothing else really compares to its ease of use.
