Is Vegas ever going to let us save m2t files as “trimmed copies of source media” when doing as “save as?

Vegas actually does trim avi files and allows for “extra head and tail” of the avi files but the m2t saves the entire clip even though the menu leads you to believe it’s trimming the files. This is a storage problem when I have multiple long clips and only use a couple seconds from each clip.

You can make a feature request at the Sony web site but I doubt anyone here can tell you if it’s on Sony’s todo list or not. The problem is that AVI files contains full frames and you can split them anywhere you’d like but M2T files contain a long GOP that has delta frames and you can only split on I-Frames. Still it would be a great feature if at least Sony trimmed at the closest I-frame. I would vote for it! All I can say is make a product suggestion.
