  • Saving effects – how to?

Is it possible to save an effect outside of FCP? IE on the desktop or any other location? I can create an effect such as a color correction and save it in the effects bin, i’m just wondering if there’s a way to save the effect to the hard drive so it can be shared with other FCP users.

    Thanks in advance!

Save the PROJECT with the effect(s) in it and give them a copy of the project.

You can even drag the “Favorites” Effects folder into the Browser and it will be saved in the project.

You can easily create a project that is just for saving custom effects (drag each new effect to that project’s Browser, then save that project.

Create a new Project, call it something like Effects and Filters. I have a bunch of these on my system.

Drag your Effects and Filters into this project. Now you can share this project with anyone, even via email, to share your filter settings and effects.
