Activity Forums VEGAS Pro “Save Snapshot” size question

  • “Save Snapshot” size question

Posted by Kelly Griffin on September 27, 2011 at 6:10 pm

I have an SD project, 720×486. If I display “Best>Full” and do a “Save snapshot to file”, how come Vegas saves the image as 655 x 486.

I’m sure it has to do with square/non-square pixels, but how do I get a 720×486 file instead, and why does Vegas assume I want a resized image in the first place?

    Thanks,

    –Kelly

Yes, it’s to do with non-square pixels. Even if the project uses non-square pixels (DV/DVD formats), the snapshots get saved with square pixels.

See this thread for the details. There are plenty more threads discussing the same type of thing.

By the way, if this is a DVD project then it should probably be 720×480, not 720×486.
