Any monitor that’s easy on your eyes is suitable for video editing, at least for computer display. We generally purchase the Dell 24″ monitors as they have very sharp text reproduction which is important when you’re staring at computer interfaces all day. Fuzzy text will make your eyes tired.

Then I just purchase a cheaper monitor for the 2nd unit. I actually picked up a nice Acer P244W 24″ unit yesterday at Fry’s because it was only $200 and had incredible text and color reproduction. I was also looking at a samsung LED display, but it had no VESA mount capabilities so that ruled it out. We put all our monitors on swing arms.

If you want the monitor to serve as your External Video display device, then look at the Flanders Scientific LCD monitors.

I just purchased this monitor and love it. I have been editing photos and doing some Final Cut work and love this monitor. It easily compares to the quality of my Apple Cinema Display.
