Does anyone here have any experience with the Samsung 245T 24″ LCD monitors? (I’ve searched the forums and haven’t found anything on it.) I’d be using it as a computer monitor with Final Cut Pro (plus After Effects, Photoshop, etc.). Color correction will be handled via a Sony CRT broadcast monitor (we’re still mostly SD). How do you think it compares with Apple’s displays or Dell’s?

I’ve read some reviews here and there, but I wanted to know what COW members thought.

    Keith,

The Samsung gets good reviews and its about the same price as the Dell 24″ Ultrasharp. Either one will work for you. I have the Dells myself.

Both monitors will take some time to setup in order to get them close to your video monitor, but that’s the nature of the beast. Just keep tweaking until you find suitable settings that give you confidence so you quickly judge quality at a glace. Your computer monitors should never be the ones you completely rely on, but they should be close enough so anyone looking at them can comfortably make quick decisions without fear.

    Hope this helps…
