  Same animation preset, different outcomes

  Forgive me for asking but I wouldn’t know where else to go.

  I use the Animation Preset under Transitions – Movement called Slide – Straight. This is what I do:

  1. I create a text layer and enter my name in the middle.
  2. I apply the Slide – Straight animtation preset
  3. I hit play.
  4. The animation plays as expected: the text slides from OUTSIDE the comp to its original position.

  Now, if I try the same with my vector graphic (.ai), something else happens. Once I apply the preset on a vector graphic, After Effects doesnt place the vector graphic outside the comp but instead it places the graphic a bit to the left but still in the composition.

  Does anyone have any idea why the vector graphic doesnt go outside the screen like the text does when the Slide – Straight preset is applied?
