Safe to open Bins from MC 6.5 or 7 on MC 5.5.2 ?
I’m about to start editing a low budget feature and I have MC 5.5.2. We want to get an assistant started on another, separate, system. Is it safe for me to use bins in MC 5.5.2 that were created in 6.5/7? I’ve read that using 6 and 5.5 is fine, just checking for the others in case we have to use a newer version.

No the changes in V7 means bins can’t go back unless you have the latest patch update. Pretty sure there were releases recently for V5.5 V6.0 and V6.5
You need to download and install that latest patch to get bin support.
Also with V7 you get a lot of new features that won’t be supported in V5.5 so you need to manage that as well. -

I believe so. I don’t think I went up to anything higher at that time and I definitely shared bins with MC 6.5.
You can download 5.5.5 now and that will work. I just edited a film using 5.5.5 that was started on MC 8. I created a new project and copied in the bins and it worked fine.
