    I bought new (sealed with dongle) Xpress Pro HD 5.0 from ebay, installed ok but when I run it I get :

    Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library

    Runtime Error!

    Program: …rogram Files\Avid\Avid Xpress Pro HD\AvidXpressProHD.exe

    This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.
    Please contact the application’s support team for more information.

    I am running an AMD dual core 4400 processor system with ATI RADEON X850 XT graphics card, Realtek AC’97 sound card, with XP home.

    Any suggestions pleeeeeeeeeeeaaaase! Have looked everywhere!

    From hnowledge base :
    You may encounter this error when attempting to launch Avid Xpress Pro HD.

    Go to C:\Program Files\Avid\Avid Xpress Pro HD and look for digitalio.dll If it’s there, delete it.

    Also look for and delete CoreUtils.dll, CoreServices.dll, CoreThreads.dll and LavaFlow.dll – but ONLY in the Avid Xpress Pro HD folder.

    Once you’ve done this, restart your computer and launch Xpress Pro HD.

    If it still does not launch, save copies of your Avid Projects and Avid Attic folders to your desktop (if you have projects from a previous version that you wish to save), and go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs. Remove Avid Xpress Pro HD and Avid DIO Runtime. Then go to C:\Program Files\Avid and delete the Avid Xpress Pro HD folder, and finally delete the Avid folder from C:\Program Files\Common Files. Restart your computer, and reinstall Avid Xpress Pro HD.

    these files do exist on my system, in several different places (mainly in C:\Program Files\Common Files\Avid), but not in C:\Program Files\Avid\Avid Xpress Pro HD !

    Maybe you will have to reinstall the software, but prior to this, I suggest you do a clean uninstall !
    An additional info about the error message, sometimes it’s owed to permissions issues !

    When I installed Xpress DV on my machine, I was told by the tech guy that AVID didn’t support XP Home. That may be your issue as well. Any thoughts?
