I was wondering if it is possible to rove position keyframes across time in a single axis (x-axis). I am assuming if this is possible it would be done with expressions not some setting or effect that I am unaware of.

I don’t quite get it, you want to rove the x keyframes over time and leave the y keyframes unchanged? If you stretched out the x, what would the following y’s do, the y’s in thaat newly create space (or shrunken space)stay the same as the last y keyframe before the stretch?

There is a Preset in Effects and Presets (Window > Effects and Presets) called Separate XYZ (or something like this). With this preset, you can animate separately the positions so you can rove them separately also.
