Routing audio channels from source monitor to timeline
Hi everybody, I’ve a feeling this is a relatively basic question and I hope there is a simple solution to it, but auntie google didn’t have an answer for me. I’m working on a Nitris DX version.
I’m editing a TV documentary and the recorded sound is always on tracks 1&2. I want these tracks to end up on tracks 3&4 on the timeline though. So, everytime I load a new clip into the source monitor, tracks 1&2 are obviously routed to tracks 1&2 in the timeline as well and I have to manually re-route them to tracks 3&4. I have to do this every time I load a new clip into the source monitor and it’s really annoying. I’m hoping there’s a way to tell the avid that I want tracks 1&2 to route automatically to tracks 3&4 in the timeline when I load a new clip in the source monitor.
I know I can move the actual tracks in the timeline up and down, but that is not what I want. When I have interviews I do want track 1 to go to track 1 in the timeline as well, but I’d rather do that manually than the other way round.
I hope someone understands what I mean. Thanks in advance 🙂
