    Greetings-

I am experiencing a bit of trouble with some Motion files that I have brought back into FCP. Hopefully someone might be able to let me know what’s going wrong. This is what I am doing:

Running FC Studio 2, I have 8 an track sequence. 4 of the tracks are freeze frames (all the same image). In this image I have a person that I am chopping up into 4 sections (lower leg, upper leg, torso, and head). Each section was brought into Motion to mask out everything except the specific body part I wanted for that track. Then, over the course of 6 frames, I animated my body to simulate being hit by a car using the motion tabs in FCP.

Everything looks great, however when I render this section of the sequence, the tracks with the Motion masked out files are all green (please see screen shot).

I tried exporting a self contained QT movie (still renders out green). Also tried sending it back to Motion to export to a QT movie, but the Motion files won’t go back.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

How did you make the freeze frames?

“Make Freeze Frame” in the “Modify” menu.

Yes, that’s your problem. That media is only existent in FCP. If you export those stills as real media, reimport and edit on your timeline, then send to motion, Motion will know what to do with it.
