Hello- I am trying to create the look of rope or cable. I made a Cylinder and I’m trying to texture the color and bump channels but I’m not getting the right effect. I also tried twisting the cylinder but – not so good either. I’ve searched online for tutorials but can’t find one that adresses rope.

    Can anyone help?

    Thanks,
    Rachel

That looks like it would do the trick! I am having trouble downloading it though – and keep getting a .txt file.

Does it work on a MAC?

    Thanks,

weird weird – no dice on this end – with Safari or Explorer. I am control clicking and tried it with my 3 button mouse as a right click. Both apps just see the download button as a link – without a file. I am running 10.4.6 and Cinema 4D 9.6 too. Is it a large file? If not, could you email it to me?

    If not, no worries.

I just tried it with Safari, and got a txt file too. What I did was to delete everything after rar so that it then read “reeper.rar.” I drug that on top of the icon for Stuffit expander and it opened into a folder with the proper files inside.

    Hope that helps.

You could use displacement. Check this sample scene: https://www.3danvil.com/Rope_AT_Scene.zip

I am using a g5 with safari and had no problems downloading and installing reeper. i did however download the text file first before I saw the correct link.
