[Erik Lundberg] “Something that could be a REAL feature would be an patchable audio mixer where you could assign one or several roles to one channel.”

Agreed! And maybe roles does bring back the possibility of a mixer. I can see how that might work.

OMF/AAF is surely needed from our viewpoint. Going to ProTools will persist. Soundtrack roundtripping… Not so sure. I’d rather see that they continue on the path they’re on, bringing in more REAL. Audio capabilities into the editor. It’s not done, but I’d rather have more of that than Soundtrack on the side.

Ugh. Typing on an iPad that throws in som extra points and capitals. Ment to write REAL audio capabilities…

Interestingly (or not, depending on ones need to try these things) I’ve found that I can delete roles from the roles list, and can edit role names too as long as I remain in the Role Editor window … but once I exit that, then on reopening the Role Editor then I can no longer edit or manually delete the roles I just created. If I quit the app and the relaunch tho, any unassigned roles ie ones I haven’t actually used anywhere (other than the defaults) appear to have been automatically deleted.

Thanks for those details. That may indicate that the Role is altering some aspect of the project that is “unsafe” to change as long as the project is open/in use. It probably makes the save upon exiting the Role editor.
