Role-like functionality via colors in Premiere Pro?
So this popped up in my Twitter feed and I was hoping someone with more knowledge to XML, PPro and how roles function both in X and sending info from X to other apps, could shed some more light on it.

Unless someone then uses those color tags for track assignment when importing the xml into a DAW then it isn’t like Roles very much. But the prospect is there to rearrange clips into different tracks based on color not the original track assignment but then there would be the possibility of collisions and overwrites so it would be somewhat crazy given they are already track assigned unlike X.
It might be slightly helpful in a DAW if the color coding came through to perhaps identify a particular characters shots if you wanted to apply a common clip EQ or grades, so there can be ways to use the additional identifier of colors later in another system like Resolve, ProTools, etc
Calling Pr color tags Roles emulation is ignoring all the other assignment aspects of Roles but it does open up extended possibilities.
