Roger, as that other thread was wandering away from the initial Postee, I thought it polite and respectful to start a NEW Thread for your question concerning pI and its ALPHA.
Do not use the Render setup you used. I reproed your results using your settings and that does NOT give you ALPHA.
I used the QT setting that was offered by Particle Illusion and got success:
What are your thoughts? What is your feedback?

Looks good. Don’t get upset with me but what settings exactly did you use to give you that transparent checkerboard in your PI render because I think I’ve tried them all with no success.
Was it in the render that you achieved that or in a preference set up in PI?Roger Bansemer – PaintingAndTravel.com

I invited you 4 times to read this thread. I even downloaded pI so I could assist you too. Be thankful I’m persistent with you! – Moving on . . .

This is NOT an either/or scenario – it’s both.

You think, so you aren’t sure? In any event, not being able to demonstrate the value of Pi in a NLE would be crazy! I used the Freebie and got ALPHA. Do a MediaInfo on your Rendered “ALPHA” media and let’s see.
I have contacts at BORIS and I can follow through.

This is the media information when the PI is put in Vegas. Hope this is what you’re asking for.

Roger, are you saying that the Media has no ALPHA because you’re seeing “None” in that field?

Correct. It’s been listed at NONE no matter what setting I have render in with PI.
I’ve also changed that field from None to Alpha and nothing happens.

Oh I’m so glad I’ve persisted with you – dear heart . . You see that TINY Down Arrow, click on it. I see options for ALPHA – what are you seeing . . . tick . . tock . . tock . .
