Rode Videomic Or Stereo VideoMic for stage?
I’m Shooting a play and I’m going to be in the back of an auditorium. What would be the best choice?

Move closer to the stage. If you’re 40+ feet away from the stage basically nothing will help to capture reasonably good audio especially if there’s no PA.

I’ve Used the canon DM-100 with my Vixia cam and got ok sound. I borrowed a sennheiser shotgun from a friend and got great sound but sadly that’s not an option this time. I wish I could be at the center of the auditorium where sound control sets up sometimes but I cant. I mean its a great auditorium and these guys can project.

Sound control says there’s PA. Use the videomic.

What did you do to tick of the sound guys? 🙂
How about using a shotgun mic and mounting it in front of the sound board and cabling back from there to where ever they put you?
