I was looking at frequency response charts of these two mics. They seem markedly different. I was wondering what subjective impressions you might have about these two.

    Don’t you mean NTG-3?

Well, you may have noticed that the NTG-3 is $400 more than the NTG-2, that means they took more care in the manufacture and quality of the components. So yes, it will have better specs. The NTG-3 has been called the poor mans MKH-416; only time will tell if that reputation holds up in the long run.

Thanks for pointing that out. I was wondering if anyone had a subjective view of the matter.

I’m about to make this same choice now. I guess I’m inclined to pay a bit more for the NTG-3 and consider it a long term investment but Id love to hear other opinions.
