Ripple edit from source window?
Hello,
One trick that I liked in the time of FCP was to 1) open a clip on my timeline in the source window, 2) find a better in or out point, and 3) ripple edit that point. Ideally all from the keyboard.
I’m not sure how to do 1 or 3 from the keyboard in premiere. I haven’t figured out how to do 3 at all. Even if the ripple tool is active, it doesn’t seem to be allowed in the source window. Adjusting those points with the mouse seems to be red brackets only, no yellow. Any advice on how to do these things? Are they possible in Premiere?

I know its not the source window, but could you use “Q” & “W” keys to trim to your new in/out in the PGM Seq? If your keyboard shortcuts are PPro defaults, the Q will ripple trim previous edit to playhead for a new in point and W will ripple trim next edit to playhead for the new out point.
