I’m presently working on a digital cinema unit which compresses scanned tif files to the DCI compliant jpeg 2000 format for projection in theatres. The files are in the RGB color space and need to be converted
to the XYZ color space prior to compression. Does anyone know of any
available hardware or software that would do this.

    Thanks,

    Ron

Yow. New stuff to me. The best I could suggest would be to Google “RGB to XYZ” (I’ve seen some transformational matrices there) or go to the Expressions COW.

    Sorry …

This does it, although I make no claim to how easy it is to use, workflow etc.

If you look in the plugins portion of the link there is an RGB to XYZ coversion plugin as part of this app.

This is included in the color management functionality in AE CS3.
There will be a terrific PDF document explaining the correct settings for different workflows, including this one.
