  • Reversing an event caused it to lose its Media FX…. Why?

I have, onscreen in my Preview at once, four copies of the same Media Event (a short clip). Each on its own video track.

They’re doing a slow rotate in 3D, which is pretty cool.

By adding a MEDIA FX to just one of them, I simultaneously colorized all four of the events purple. So far, so good.

Out of curiosity, I reversed one of the four tracks.

It reversed it, but it also forfeited its MEDIA FX (the colorization).

Why is this, I wonder? Does reversing it cause it not to be considered the same event any longer?

    Thanks, ras

Close… reversing it doesn’t consider it the same MEDIA anymore. What it did was make a SubClip for the reversed version. If you look in your media pool, you will find a new subclip that represents your reversed media. Since you added the FX to the media, this new media doesn’t have it. Just add the same FX to the new media and all will be right again.
