  • Revealing complex illustrations, is there a way?

    Hi,

I need to create a “write-on” effect for different illustrations, the problem is that these illustrations are very complex.
The illustrations were created from ink splashed out on paper creating lots of small threads running to and fro.

Now, how can I animate this? I was thinking about Write-on but it’s gonna take me some weeks to do it and I’m pretty sure it’s not gonna look that good either (dont have time either, deadline is next week).
Is there a way to “fill” up these illustrations like (by that I mean reveal), say you pour lead into a complex shape. I thought about using Particle animation to create a fluid matte,
not sure how I will constrain it to the shape of the illustration though.

    Hopefully you’ll understand what I mean 😉

    Thanks in advance,

    /Kim

Foam can constrain particles to an area based on gradient colours. Surely you’d be able to use that to your advantage.
