‘Reveal layer source in project’ greyed out in After Effects

June 13, 2018 at 7:56 amHello,
I am working in a composition with lots of elements and am spending a lot of time scrolling up and down in the composition panel trying to find the element I want to adjust.
When I right click on the element I want to work with I notice there is an option to ‘reveal layer source in project’. I assume if I click this it would take me to the layer in the composition panel, however when I right click on the element I always find the ‘reveal layer source…’ option greyed out.
Please help.

No, as it says, it will take you to the source in the PROJECT panel, not the composition panel…

What kind of layer is it? lights, cameras, shapes and text layers have no source… on those cases it should be greyed out.
