I made a tutorial video in Motion 4 that was basically synced to an audio file of a narrator explaining in english how to use a certain product. Now the client wants me to sync the same video to an audio file of a french version of the same tutorial. Now I have to resync the entire project to fit the french audio. And well, it’s quite a mess. moving all these keyframes and objects around. My question is, Is there some kind of shortcut to do this process that you may know of or some tips you have for doing that kind of work?
    thanks!

I just finished a video that was in English and then Spanish. Spanish is like 20% longer then English. We just gave the professional translator the timing on the English version and told them to match it. Clearly it will not be perfect but it is a lot closer.

so instead of saying something like,”Creative cow dot net is the premier go to place for video professionals.” You would say, “Creative cow dot net is for video professionals.”

    Hope this helps.

    Thank you for the comment!
I don’t have contact with the translators as I am working as a freelancer at a company which records the audio. However, I did find a great workaround.

I import the MOTN files to a Final Cut Pro Project, then fix the timing with the time remapping tools in FCP. Then I edit the original MOTN files and change the text to the right language. The only problem with this is that sometimes you do get some loss of framerate. In a new project I solved it by making the project in high framerate in advance (50 fps). that way even if some language is 2X slower the framerate stays correct.
