    Machine Name: PowerBook G4 15″
    Machine Model: PowerBook5,8
    CPU Type: PowerPC G4 (1.5)
    Number Of CPUs: 1
    CPU Speed: 1.67 GHz
L2 Cache (per CPU): 512 KB
    Memory: 2 GB
    Bus Speed: 167 MHz
    Boot ROM Version: 4.9.6f0
    Serial Number:
    Sudden Motion Sensor:
    State: Enabled

    Final Cut Pro 6.0.5
    G Drive Q 250 gig ( FW 800 )

I’m just trying to squeeze what i can out of my G4 before I move on to a new MacbookPro.
The G4 still works good, sept it crashes a lot and I’ve become accustomed to saving often. I should add I’m a just hobbiest that gets a few paying gigs here and there. I’m waiting on a new Battery, ( warrantied, glad I checked before I bought one from e-bay ) but I have noticed less crashing since I’ve only been using the powersupply with the battery not in. Maybe only consequential .
    My question is,
Would I be better off restoring with OS X 10.4.11 or upgrading to Leopard. My concern is the extra power/ram that Leopard consumes. Or is it negligible?
I’m using this system to run Final Cut Pro, Fireworks MX, Photoshop, I tunes, and an older version of After Effects. I should add that I’m planning on wiping the drive with files backed up on the exteral HD
    Thanks , Dean
