    Hey guys,

Recently I’ve had to spit finished colored files out to a Smoke – is there an optimal way of doing this? I render DPX files (each shot to a different directory) with handles and export the XML for the Smoke to read, but the Smoke has trouble finding the clips. Does this have something to do with how the files or directories are named, or both?

    Any help is appreciated.

It strictly depends on what are you going to do with that stuff at smoke/flame workstation and mostly on delivery format. If you plan to send it to film printer after all – log DPX + display LUT is a must. If you just add graphics on top and convert it to 1080p for broadcast – then 16 bit linear tiff sequence is enough.
