  • Resolve Quadro 4000 error

We just got the Quadro 4000 installed.

At first we had the order

    Slot 1: 4000
    Slot 2: BMD Extreme
    Slot 3: GT120
    Slot 4: SAS

however Resolve said the config was wrong when we booted up.

Changed it to the recommended setup as said in the manual:

    Slot 1: 4000
    Slot 2: GT 120
    Slot 3: BMD Extreme
    Slot 4: SAS

We have the GT 120 hooked up to our displays, (correct, right?)

However, now we get a different error
“The GT 120 is being used for processing, please use either the 4800, 4000 or GTX 285”

I can’t think of what we’ve got wrong here?

Running this on a new mac pro (2.26)

    Yeah,

We are getting “GPU memory exhausted” in the conform room for R3D files.

Computer reads the Quadro 4000 in Slot 1 in the config system profiler.

Could you try installing this driver ?

This should get it up and running for you!

    Ah ha!

    That did it.

    Thanks Dan!

Guess we didn’t have the newest drivers installed after all.

It is possible, I find when new cards are released it takes a couple of weeks / months for them to get the best performance from the card so i’d always try and keep your CUDA and Nvidia drivers up to date.

Yeah.. I mean this new driver compared to the last one is like night and day.

I couldn’t even conform an SD spot on the last driver without getting an exhausted memory error.

Now.. near real time R3D footage..

i have not had any errors but latest driver made playback flow smoother.
not big hop on fps but generally node number did not affect so much
as it used to. felt smoother 🙂 i have no scifi to back my “feeling” up.
