Resolve collaps only when selecting videofiles, very strange. Pls advice!
Hello, I just bought a new pc to use Resolve with. Win7 ultimate, i7, 8gb ram and ati hd6870. The problem is that I cannot select any videofiles, as soon as I simply click on them I get “Resolve has stopped working” and am forced to shut it down. Recently I tried Resolve on my old hp-pc with 4gb ram and Geforce 9600 series and it worked, only it was very slow. Today I tried to use that graphic card with the new pc and the same problem occurred.
Can you guys help me out/advice on this matter?

If Resolve hangs or crashes when you select a file on the Browse page, that’s usually an indication of a GPU issue. Usually the lack of one.
Are you getting any error messages when you launch Resolve?
The 6000 series NVIDIA cards are not yet supported, though per the comments elsewhere on this site, we are testing them. My guess is that you don’t have an adequate NVIDIA driver loaded. For current supported/tested cards, we recommend the GEForce 280.26 driver. I’ve also tested the current (at least it was current a month ago) 296.10 driver and it seems to work well. However, I don’t know what driver is being used to test the 6000 series cards. If you haven’t already, you might try the 296.10 driver and see what happens. That should at least make your 9600 card work, if it was working before.

Sorry to interrupt, but I don’t think the ‘ati hd6870’ is an nvidia card 😉

Uhhh, right you are! I miss read that. In that case, it’s easy. We don’t support ATI/AMD cards on Windows Resolve at all.
Sorry for thinking that was an NVIDIA card. Bad assumption on my part.

So for windows you HAVE TO HAVE an NVidia GPU? No OpenCL… but on mac it will revert to OpenCL for none NVidia hardware?

That is correct. No OpenCL on Windows. CUDA only.

are you planing to add ATI/AMD graphic-support to Resolve under windows?
Under MacOS ATI is supported as well as NVIDIA. So is this a legal or hardware issue?I love my all-silent-ati-grapics-card, and would love to keep it.

Do you know if it’s safe with a GTX 560 TI 1GB? Under tested-cards it says “newer/more expensive cards cannot guaranty compability” (or something like that :D)
