Not a rumor… just got the announcement:

    DaVinci Resolve 9

We have worked very hard on DaVinci and the new DaVinci Resolve 9 features a completely redesigned user interface. Over the last few years we have been busy adding more camera and file type support plus powerful features, however we thought it was time to rethink the user interface to make it much faster to use.

The new user interface has been designed to be extremely fast to use and to eliminate any unnecessary clicks and settings to get working fast. You can now get a job running in three clicks, one to log in, one to drop media into the project, and the next to grade! It’s really amazing and it’s hard to describe so you really need to see it!

Even though DaVinci is used on more feature films than any other color correction system, plus has more powerful features than any other solution, we did not want to get complacent. I think this new user interface is vital to DaVinci Resolve’s future. It is now a true, modern, multi-platform tool. It’s just as powerful, but also nicer to use.

We hope everyone really likes the attention to detail in the new interface and we think it’s also one of the best looking software tools. Thousands of hours of engineering have been put into it, and if you’re heading to NAB, please stop by the booth to check out the interface and add your comments and suggestions!

DaVinci Resolve 9 will ship in July as a free update for all users on Mac, Windows and Linux, and will also be available as the free Resolve Lite model.

Looks like it will render audio!!! There is a little blurb about dailies on the Resolve software page now.

Excited. Hard to get info though, the site is being hit hard. Anyone know of any video demos or posts up regarding Resolve 9?

I confirmed. It does render audio. And lots of other great things. You can setup render batches, can set it to not display GUI elements on ext out during playback. There by increasing performance. Soooooo many great things, sequence markers, really fantastic update.

I agree, the audio render was a show stopper for on-Set and dailies until now.

This is amazing update and I wish we are in July already 😉
Is there any chance for beta Resolve 9.0 before final release in July?

I was curious if anyone can confirm whether or not in v9 there are any additions to the conform process that are specific to adjustable opacity settings for composite modes. This would be a wonderful addition as this would allow for better problem solving simple tasks that arise such as lower thirds and titles. It would be nice to do this in conform instead of using key mixer in color process.

    Cheers, Chris
