    Hey

Ok so I am in the need of some advice. I am currently running one nVidia 1060GTX GPU, which is a 6gb card.. What I am wondering is, is it worth getting a second GPU (as above) to run in the machine. I’m rendering out EXR’s for Turnover at 4+k. The speed isn’t the issue, its more of running other things while this is working away. I also need to render ARRIMXF’s to EXR which I am using the Arri Converter to do, as well as create QT’s and run Avid to update cuts (yes sometimes all at the same time)

    The system is:-
    AMD Ryzen 7 3.6 16 core
    64gb Ram
    nVidia 1060GTX 6gb
    256SSD (Windows)
    4tb Media
    22tb Raid

After some thoughts as to whether its worth doing or spend the bucks and get a bigger boat?

    Regards
    K

Resolve is demanding enough that I think you’re better off using a second machine if you need to do background tasks while rendering. Use a network connection to copy files across when necessary.

    Hey

Not really an option as this is my own kit.. As I said speed isn’t really the issue, its more of the fact I have a lot of other background processes going on.

    Thanks
