Resolution Advantages working with Native MTS Files In Premeire vs Coverting to Pro Res for FCP?
I’m used to cutting docs in pro res / FCP. But have a project that has many hours of footage shot with down and dirty street cameras. Specifically Panasonic HDC-HS900 flip cams with lots of grain and native MTS files. Because this film will screen theatrically I’m wondering if there are resolution advantages to editing in the native MTS format in Premiere rather than upconverting to Pro Res and cutting in FCP. The project will be easier for me to wrangle in FCP but I don’t want to compress this video anymore than it already is. Help appreciated.
