  • Resizing DV Anamorphic to 4:3?

I have a clip that has that was shot on Betacam in the anamorphic/widescreen setting. So the clip is stretched vertically to fit into a 4:3 framing. When the clip is shrunk vertically, it looks like a 4:3 clip with widescreen letterboxing.

Does anybody know the proper percentage by which I should set the vertical height in After Effects?

If you set the pixel aspect ratio correctly in “Interpret Footage” ( ie. ‘Pal or NSTC Widescreen’ )
you’ll see that the scaling is allready correct,

You can then use “Fit to Height” or “Fit to Width” to choose if you want it cropped at the sides or with letterboxing, when you drop it in a comp with different dimensions or pixel aspect.

search the manual for “pixel aspect” for some more info
