  • Resizing compositions from SD to HD

I am working on a project that has some animations that were previously created in a Standard Def format. We will be re-using these animations but will now be using a 1920 x 1080 HD format. The animations I am trying to use are vector animations. What is the best way to upconvert these compositions without losing the complex animations (null effects, scale and position transformations, etc.) Is there a simple way to do this?

The alternative would be to drop the SD comp into an HD comp, use Fit To Comp Height (or Width if you want a full 16:9 frame but this will cut the top and bottom of the 4:3 frame), and enable continuously rasterize/collapse transformations on the SD comp.

Unfortunately this doesn’t quite work if there was a 3D camera in the SD comp, translating the coordinates of the camera from SD to HD can be a major pain.
