I also have problems with the reference of prosumer products being out of the financial reach of professionals. We have to determine what constitutes a professional, or do we?

We, who have been in the industry for say, 30-40 or more years, remember when cameras were in the $125,000 and up price range. We were very happy when portables came out in the $75,000 range and along came hand helds dropping price to $45,000 and slowly coming down.

I don’t believe that the readership of COW is purely prosumer product users, but all ranges of professionals. Isn’t Broadcast Design more geared to broadcasting?

I feel we just have to realize that we, as professionals, work in all phases of the business, and as a result use all price ranges of equipment. I hope no one takes this the wrong way, I am just trying to ease the tension some may feel about the thread as it has become.

As to the glass on the front of cameras, that is pure physics, and it will be a loooooooooong time before someone can come up with a way to make glass more magnifying and smaller at the same time.
