Ok, I just switched from FCP so forgive me for such a noob question.

I have a host against a greenscreen that I am trying to move to the left of the frame. In FCP I would just click on the motion tab and adjust him on the X axis and that was it. I don’t see a similar control in Avid. I see a “Pan & Zoom” effect, but when I drop that on the clip he disappears.

Can someone tell me how to do basic repositioning of this video, or other graphic elements that I am certain to import? I’m sure it’s an easy thing to do but I just don’t see it in the interface. Thanks.

Hi Matt. To simply move an image there are several effects that work ranging from resize (the most simple) to 3D Warp (the most complex). In your case as the footage needs to be keyed too you can actually do the movement inside the spectramatte effect (which is my favourite for keying). At the bottom of the list of parameters in the spectramatte are options to resize or move your image around, after you have performed the key.

    Andrew,

I have been using SpectraMatte. It’s a great keyer. I didn’t realize the reposition options. Thanks alot for bringing this to my attention.
