    Hello all,
Somewhat new to Motion. Have been using it for about a year now.
There is a commercial out by the beer company Stella Artois.

I would like to make a short slideshow using photos and very short video clips using this technique.
Any suggestions on how to pull this off would be awesome. (I am pretty sure you can do something like this using Motion. Just not sure on how to do it.)

    Thanks in advance.

Looks very simple – just some animated masks – if you know how to mask a layer and how to do basic keyframe animation, you should be able to pull this off. The trick is in the content and the timing.

If you are going to move the image, place the image in a group and add the mask to the group so you can move the image independent of the mask.

    Thanks for you help guys.
I know it seems simple but new to this thing.
I have one picture worked out nicely. Now I’m wondering why my other photos in the project do not come up on the same motion timeline? e.g. One photo comes up, but when I click on a different photo (that I placed in a different group) it’s just black. Tried importing straight from library but that didn’t work either. What am I doing wrong?

    Thanks again.

Does the picture exist at the playhead location? If so, can you provide a screenshot of your UI?

In other words. How can I see all photos in the timeline at once?
Or is there a better way to get the timing correct?

Ok so I am figuring some stuff out….
But again, I think there has to be a more efficent way to do this.
More organized. Better workflow. Definitely open for suggestions.
