  • Replacing Missing Effects?

Posted by Sarah on August 31, 2005 at 12:55 pm

I’m opening an old project in 6.5 and im getting a message saying that I have 13 missing effects. This is because my old FE effects are now CC effects. Is there any way I can re-link them, or swap the CC effects in?

    Thanks

I’ve’ tried doing a search and replace on the raw text-file of the project in a text-editor like BBedit once.
That only works if the old and new effect have exactly the same parameters (most do)

But it als only works if the name of the new effect-name has the same length as the old.
for example: just change FE to CC wil work.

But some filters’ name has changed a lot: they won’t work becuase when you change that, your file get’s shorter and probably some checksum gets annoyed at you.

Do it on a copy of your .aep file of course:

succes ain’t garantueed, but it’s worth a shot.
