    Hi All,

we’re working on a film project being shot on 25p HDcam. Theres a few days delay before we get the rushes so a sound problem on the camera master went undetected by the crew (soundman monitoring the DAT master). Because of a tight schedule we’ve had to press ahead and start with the faulty sound but it needs to be relaced ASAP so we’re hiring in a studio DAT with RS422 next week.

My question is, can I delete the original sound media files for the clips I have created for the first three days material and then simply select all the clips and Batch Digitise, thus combining HD pictures and DAT sound in the one clip?

    thanks a lot

You might want to read up on how Autosync works, rather than use the workflow you are suggesting. Its all in the Media Composer Help.

    Hi John, thanks for that.

Once the clips have been auto synced is there any way that I can automate the updating of the sequences I’ve already cut, to replace the faulty sound in those seq’s with the good sound in the autosynced clips? I’ve got three days of cut material and a tight deadline, replacing the segments in the cut seq’s one-by-one is the doomsday scenario :-#
