Replacing AVCHD with Prores without reimporting
I just logged and transferred a bunch of AVCHD-files fra my SDcart into FCP and forgot to chose Apple ProRes 422 in the Import Preferences window.
Can I replace those files without reimporting?And if yes, how to do?

Well, you are going to have to convert the footage to ProRes somehow. How can you do that without logging and transferring again?
How did you bring in the footage in the first place? what format?

ok, thanks. I imported the files as Apple Intermediate. I’ll take a deep breath and import again.

Prores is the default format when using L&T with AVCHD footage, so I guess your stuff is already Prores.
Check it in the Browser.

helas no it wasn’t, that’s why I asked…

You better L&T again instead of re-converting the AIC files to Prores.
The AIC is a very lossy and you will end up with a crap of footage.
