Replacing a clip

Probably the easiest way is to right click on your existing clip in the timeline and select copy.

Then edit in your new clip.

Then right click on the new clip and select paste attributes.

You can then select which attributes from the old clip to copy across.

So perhaps in your case that will be Basic Motion and Filters.

But you can select other parameters too like crop etc, just select the ones that are relevant to your clip that you want to retain.

Then the new clip will have all of the attributes and filters from the old one.

Neil’s way is easier and recommended…but to swap it you can select the clip you want and hit the command and C keys to copy it. Then right clip on the clip you want to replace and choose Paste Attributes. Then choose Content. Content will take the last clip and past it into the new clip. Because of varying lengths it is easier to paste the attributes such as Basic Motion and Filters though.
