What’s the easiest way to replace a still in the timeline?

A client has changed their logo, and they want to replace the old one in
    already completed timeline / project.

The logo is animated in different way and in diferents sizes on about 15 different places.
I wonder if I can replace the still image similar to replacing an object in Motion’s template.

I was thinking about deleting old logo and then when asked to reconnect, I reconnect it to
    new logo. Would that work?

    Thanks

    Mio

If the new logo is the EXACT dimensions it might.

a similar but less risky approach exists…

in FCP, you can COPY the new logo,
and paste Attributes: CONTENT into the old clip.

still, if your reconnect method worked, you could do all instance in one go.

make a backup of the project/s with the OLD logo before you try the reconnect.

This is isn’t really risky, you could always reconnect back to the original.

Miodrag, the only reason the size needs to be the same is so that all the scaling and other manipulations match up.

Yes thanks Jeremy, I realised that when you mentioned it.

    Miodrag,

The easiest way, which is what you asked, is to throw away the original logo file or just put it in a different folder somewhere, name the new clip exactly the same and reconnect
your media to that. Doesn’t matter what changes you made to it, except if the size or shape is drastically different you may have to adjust a few keyframes.

I do this all the time.

    Have a wonderful day.
