I got an error today when trying to update the Details Panel (adding and removing a field). I’ve never seen this before and am unsure where (or if I SHOULD) update the variable settings. Anybody know how to fix this?

replaceSettings Failed (Packet for query is too large (1196974 > 1048576). You can change the value on the server by setting the max_allowed_packet’ variable.)

It’s not uncommon to need to increase max_allowed_packet in you my.conf or my.ini file. I ususally set it to 16M.

Hmm, I’m not sure where to find either of those files and I did a search on the whole server.
Where do I find those files?

I have the info Shane, trying to get a quick way to share it to the world.

That’s a MySQL admin thing and you may want your integrator to do it, but I’ll post the steps as soon as I can. (we’re doing a web re-work.)

Sorry – finger trouble – I of course meant my.cnf (on a Mac). Its location can vary but its usually /etc/my.cnf.

Hey guys, this is a quick doc we keep in our internal wiki for our field techs.

I’m posting it publicly with the hope that if it helps you, you take a look at Akomi as payback. 😉

Squarebox actually logged into our server and the reason I couldn’t find that setting was because they needed to ADD the line into one of the files… Not sure how it went missing, but it is fixed now.

Thanks a ton for your help!

I do need to add that one.

Often it’s not in there but you can just add the line. As I understand it, as long as the doc looks similar to the example shown you’re good.
