  • Replace MP4’s audio track without affecting video?

Posted by Danny Mulen on January 25, 2012 at 2:24 am

Just spent the entire day rendering to find out the audio track needs to be swapped out with the mastered version. Is it possible without re-rendering everything?

    Thanks.

    Hello Danny,

My guess would be that if the mastered audio is the same format as the timeline that you won’t have to render.

Please let us know, and also please let us know what editing system you’re using.

Well I use Premiere and dont know of any option that renders “only audio” to the mp4 file without having to re-render the video.

    Danny,

With FCP, you can break the link between audio and video of a clip and remove or mover either one independently. Premiere doesn’t allow that?

You wouldn’t be rendering to an mp4 file, you’d be replacing existing audio.
