repeatedly transition between two layers
hey there —
i have two layers (call them layer “A” and “B”) in AE that are both the length of the entire composition.
i want to transition between those two layers repeatedly throughout the whole 10 minute composition. each one is going to be shown approximately 13 times, so 26-ish transitions total. it’s just back and forth between the two: A B A B A B A B A B etc.
currently i’m using a card wipe with a gradient layer and i really like the effect. i would like to keep that if possible, but once the initial A -> B transition occurs (using B as the “back layer” in the card wipe), i’m having trouble getting the B -> A transition to work in the same layer.
i know i can duplicate the layers a bunch of times and transition that way, but i’m hoping someone out there can think of an easier solution. i hope i’m explaining this ok.

If you can keyframe Card Wipe for a cycle (A>B, B>A) then you could add this expression to the Transition Completion Stopwatch (Atl Click the stopwatch then paste in the expression):
