Repair for my Zoom Handy Recorder H4n and/or good option to replace it
Hi
Does anyone have a recommendation for someone to repair my Zoom handy recorder H4n? It has stopped working and don’t have anyone who can do it.
If it is dead, what does anyone suggest I buy to replace it. Need something for everyday recordings but have a very small budget for it.
Thanks

Hi,
The Zoom H5 Handy Recorder with Interchangeable Microphone System works well.

Alas, modern, inexpensive consumer products are often more expensive to repair than to replace. They are designed for inexpensive assembly, not for “repairability”. Service information is no longer published as it was in former times, and fewer people are left who still do this.
It would not be surprising that if you find someone to take the job, just the cost of looking at it to determine whether it can be repaired can amount to a large portion of the cost of a new (or used or refurbished) replacement.

Recording audio without metering and monitoring is exactly like framing and focusing without looking at the viewfinder.
